Going live with Calcurates for Shopify

Going live is the moment your real customers start seeing Calcurates rates at checkout. This guide covers the final checks before launch and what to monitor during the first days.

Before you start

  • Your Shopify plan has the third-party carrier-calculated shipping (CCS) feature enabled. Without it, no rates from Calcurates (or any rates app) can appear at checkout. Learn how to check and enable it.
  • You have tested your configuration with the Test Your Rates tool, which emulates your checkout.

Tip: you can also test directly on your live checkout without customers seeing the methods — put your shipping methods into Test Mode and use "Calcurates" as the First Name at checkout to view the shipping methods provided by Calcurates.

Go-live checklist

1. Enable Calcurates methods in your Shopify shipping zones. In your Shopify admin: Settings > Shipping and delivery > Shipping > Manage > Shipping zones > Carrier and app rates > Edit > Calcurates (Rates provided by app) — and check the shipping methods from your Calcurates account.

Important: repeat this for every shipping profile and every zone where Calcurates rates should appear. A method missing in one zone means customers shipping to that zone won't see it.

2. Remove or disable overlapping native Shopify rates. If you previously had Shopify's own flat or manual rates in the same zones, disable them — otherwise customers will see duplicates (your old flat rate next to the Calcurates rate).

3. Check Shipping Options in your Calcurates account. Every Shipping Option you want live must be enabled.

4. Check that every Shipping Option has an Origin assigned. A missing Origin is one of the most common reasons a method silently doesn't appear at checkout.

5. Multi-Origin users: make sure your Origins are synced with your Shopify vendors. See How Multi-Origin Shipping feature works.

6. Check your plan headroom. Estimate your expected monthly rate calculations against your current plan's limit so you are not surprised by overage charges. Planning a sale or peak season? Consider upgrading in advance. See Billing and Pricing Plans.

After going live — the first 72 hours

  • Watch the Activity Feed for errors or unexpected results.
  • Spot-check rates for your top destinations and your heaviest/largest product.
  • If anything looks wrong, copy the Request ID from the Activity Feed and submit a ticket — with the Request ID we can replay the exact calculation and find the cause quickly.
