How to add or edit a Shipping Segment
Overview
Shipping Segments are preset conditions that can be used in:
- Shipping Rules as conditions
- Table Rates Shipping Option as Segments for "PRODUCT SEGMENTS" method's algorithm
- Delivery Dates Profiles as conditions
- Custom Calculation to cover certain items
Note, that Shipping Segment itself does nothing if not used in Rules, Table Rates, Delivery Dates or Custom Calculation.
Shipping Segments: Examples
- Carts over 5 lbs weight
- Carts with items over 15 lbs
- Carts over $100
- More than 5 items in Cart
- Distant states orders
- Destinations with specific postcodes
- "Category Name" items over $100
- Items with specific Tags or Metafields
- Specific SKUs
- Weekend US orders over $50
Shipping Segment: Configuration Steps
Step 1: Add / Edit Shipping Segment
Step 2: Specify Segment's conditions
Step 3: Apply Shipping Segment to a Rule, Delivery Dates, Table Rates or Custom Calculation
Step 1: Add / Edit Shipping Segment
Add a Shipping Segment in the "Segments" section. Click "Add Shipping Segment" yellow button.
Specify Segment's name and description in the "General" section.
Step 2: Specify Segment's conditions
In the "Conditions" section you should specify a condition set that covers your Shipping Segment using multiple attributes categorized by types and operators. You may set multiple conditions for your Shipping Segment using AND / OR operators between them.
In the following table, you may find information on some available attributes and their operators.

Step 3: Apply Shipping Segment(s)
Now you can use your Segment(s) in:
- Shipping Rules as conditions
- Table Rates Shipping Option as Segments for "PRODUCT SEGMENTS" method's algorithm
- Delivery Dates Profiles as conditions
- Custom Calculation to cover certain items
