What is Origin

What is Origin

Origin — the location where your products are shipped from to the customer's destination address. 

Types of Origin

  1. Warehouse or store — your own location where your products are stored and shipped from.
  2. Vendor (in case of dropshipping). Dropshipping is a retail fulfillment method where a store doesn't keep the products it sells in stock. Instead, when a store sells a product using the dropshipping model, it purchases the item from a third party (vendor) and has it shipped directly to the customer.
  3. Fulfillment centers — physical locations from which third-party logistics (3PL) providers (also known as fulfillment providers) fulfill customer orders for e-commerce retailers.

Importance of Origin details

Live rates and shipping labels from carriers are requested with origin location details and directly affect shipping rates. That is why it is important to fill in your origin details correctly.
